Bike tours in the area

Around 600 kilometers of varied cycle paths invite you to cycle in South Tyrol. Mountain biking and cycling are among the most popular summer activities in the Isarco Valley.

Aicha is an ideal starting point for cycling tours, as it is located at the intersection of the Eisacktal/Wipptal and Pustertal valley cycle paths. Along the routes there is the possibility of renting bicycles and using the train. The practical combined train and bus ticket enables families to enjoy relaxed cycling in South Tyrol without difficult climbs. With the bikemobil card, cyclists can use all public transport in South Tyrol, including bike rental, at low cost.

For racing cyclists, the Valle Isarco offers one of the most beautiful ascents to a pass in the Dolomites. Via Lüsen you can reach the beautifully situated Würzjoch at the foot of the Peitlerkofel.

There are also many opportunities for beautiful mountain bike tours of various levels of difficulty – through the low mountain range, to sunny alpine plateaus or to high mountain paths and passes in the midst of an impressive landscape. The single trail on the Plose, Brixen’s local mountain, offers all adventurous mountain bikers the finest biking fun. The 6.6 km long route is considered to be particularly flowy and leads in long curves from the Plose mountain station at 2,050 meters to the valley station around 900 meters below.

One of the most popular routes is the Pustertal cycle path, also known as the Pusterbike. The approximately 105 km long, largely paved cycle route leads through the Pustertal to Lienz in East Tyrol. Since it has no notable gradients, it is also suitable for less athletic cyclists.

The Valle Isarco cycle path is equally suitable for families and recreational athletes. It begins at the Brenner Pass and leads through the Wipp and Eisack valleys via the towns of Sterzing, Brixen and Klausen to Bozen. The approximately 102 km long route can also be traveled in sections. The Lindenwirt is located directly on the Eisacktal cycle path.
