Holiday in the Lindenwirt
No matter what time of year, our holiday region is always worth a visit.
In spring, the annual apple blossom is a special highlight. With the first warm rays of sunshine, the orchards are transformed into a fragrant sea of flowers.
In summer, the surrounding villages and the Almenregion Gitschberg Jochtal, the Rodenecker and Villanderer Alm, the Plose and the Villnösser valley, as well as the Dolomites invite you to take long walks and hikes. The refreshing lakes and swimming pools in the area provide refreshment on hot days. The “Acquarena” indoor and outdoor swimming pool is located in Brixen, just a few kilometers from Aicha. A visit to the “Balneum” in Sterzing or the “Alpinpool” in Meransen is always worthwhile. Adventurous vacationers can take part in a rafting tour on the Eisack or glide through the air while paragliding.
An old tradition is cultivated in South Tyrol in autumn: the “Törggelen”.
Young and old meet in taverns and inns to taste smoked meat and dumplings, roasted chestnuts and the first young wine.
In winter, Aicha is a central starting point for various winter sports. The neighboring ski areas of Gitschberg/Jochtal, Plose and Ratschings ensure the right holiday mood on well-groomed slopes, rustic huts or après-ski and can be reached in a very short time. In the Isarco Valley there are over 40 natural toboggan runs of different lengths and levels of difficulty for a great snow experience. You should not miss a descent on South Tyrol’s longest toboggan run, the “Rudi Run” in the Plose ski area. Many of the well-marked winter hiking trails, mountain trails and secluded paths offer spectacular panoramic views of the mountains and the Dolomites. Cross-country skiers skate between alpine pastures and high plateaus on excellently groomed trails .
Between the end of November and the beginning of January, Christmas markets take place in many towns in South Tyrol. The largest in Bozen and Meran, but also Bruneck, Brixen and Sterzing are definitely worth a visit during the Advent season.
